Dare to Dream
Dare to Dream is a fun, day-long program for middle school girls, typically held on a Thursday in October. The goal of the program is to provide age-appropriate education on human trafficking awareness, safety, and prevention, while building confidence, self-worth, and connection.
We partner with local school counselors and educators to identify and invite students who may benefit from this experience. High school students serve as peer mentors, offering encouragement and support as participants engage in a variety of interactive activity stations throughout the day.
The program includes speakers who share information on personal safety, healthy relationships, and overall well-being, along with a featured presentation focused on the realities and prevention of sexual exploitation and trafficking.
In addition to the speakers, students participate in crafts, learn relaxation and self-care techniques, and enjoy a catered lunch in a supportive and uplifting environment. Dare to Dream has been a meaningful and impactful program, and we look forward to continuing to grow and expand its reach.
Get Involved
Dare to Dream is led by a dedicated committee of Soroptimist members, including two co-chairs, along with support from the broader club. The committee collaborates closely with school partners to coordinate student participation, plan event logistics, secure speakers, and design engaging activity stations.
We welcome involvement from community members, volunteers, and partners who are interested in supporting youth empowerment and prevention efforts. Opportunities may include mentoring, event support, or contributing to program activities.
